DSC Alarm Systems is a division of Tyco. DSC provides homes and businesses with advanced intruder security alarms. DSC also integrates other switch operated devices to monitor items such as CO2, Smoke and water.
Many alarm companies throughout the United States and all over the world install DSC systems to keep even the most secure facilities safe.
DSC has many components from control panels to window sensors. Below you will find some of the most common of DSC devices.
A control panel is the "brain" of an alarm system. This device receives information from all the other devices in the alarm system.
Some DSC control panels are built into a keypad and others are contained within their own box.
A keypad is your connection to the alarm system. Whenever you need the alarm to do something including arm, disarm or bypass sensors you will do that through the keypad.
DSC had a touchpad keypad available for a time, but it has been hard to come by recently likely because of problems with functionality. The touchpad is nice, but a pricey addition to an alarm system.
Sensors tell the control panel there is a problem. The problem may be an intruder setting off a motion sensor or possibly the sump in the basement is overflowing. Without sensors, the alarm system would be basically useless.
Some of the most common sensors include door & window sensors, motion detectors, glass break detectors and waterbugs (water detectors).
There are other things you can add to your system. We categorize them under accessories.
