Brinks locks are a value brand lock available at minimal cost at retailers such as Walmart and online. If you don't have the money to spend on a quality lock, Brinks locks can be had for a fraction of the cost of many other locks.
When choosing a lock for your doors there are a few things you should consider. First is security, security is very important on exterior doors to you home and you should always purchase the best locks possible for these doors. If you don't have the money to spend, a Brinks lockset will hold the door shut and keep people from opening the door without tools.
With door locks, you get what you pay for and skimping on your security could result in disaster. Lets say you find a Brinks for $10 at Walmart and place it on your door. Three weeks later your lock fails and you can't get in. You call a locksmith out and spend somewhere between $50 and $100 to have your home opened, plus you need a new lock as your Brinks lock has failed. This happens all too often and actually costs you much more in the end then just buying a good lock to begin with.
Locks by Brinks use the name and logo of Brinks Inc. I am not sure why Brinks, who is respected in the security industry as a leader in secure logistics worldwide would agree to place their logo on such a low priced and low quality product. As far as I can tell, Brinks door locks are made by an overseas manufacturer and only have the Brinks name slapped on to help sell the product.
One good thing about Brinks is that they do have a lifetime warranty on their locks that will help you out when the lock does fail. They will not cover the cost of a locksmith to come and open your lock, but they will likely replace the lock.
Brinks Door Locks
Brinks makes several door lock and locks for mobile homes. these locks would be among the last lock I would choose for my home. If you are on a very limited budget, these locks may be the best solution for you. Keep in mind that both security and quality are lost when purchasing very cheap locks. You can find Brinks deadbolts, Brinks lever locks and Brinks knobs available for sale in several different finishes.
Brinks Padlocks are also a value lock and should only be purchased when minimal security is needed. In my opinion The quality of Brinks padlocks is better than the quality of Brinks door locks, but it by no means is a high quality product. You can find a variety of Brinks padlocks available for all sorts of purposes including a weather resistant padlock.
